The Open selects 100cameras as its Charity for 2012

The Open proudly partners with 100cameras as its charity of choice for 2012. 100cameras is a charitable nonprofit organization that identifies children living in unjust conditions and gives them cameras to document their lives.

100cameras teaches a child how to capture and tell their story. Their photo narratives are used to raise awareness and captial to meet physical needs and empower sustainable growth within their community. Through their own photography, children become self-advocators; their pictures are the voices that speak awareness. When a print is sold through photo exhibition events, online print sales or web campaigns, 100% of that money is given back to the partner organization in that childs community. 100cameras has completed three successful projects thus far (South Sudan, NYC & Cuba) and plans to launch more in the coming months.

Get involved by signing up for their emails to stay in the loop, purchase a photo to help change a community, donate cameras, dollars or skills and share these stories with your friends.
