Mono Lake in the Eastern Sierra mountains in California is an other-worldly type of place. It is an inland mountain salt water lake with Tufa formations scattered around the edge of the lake. On the rare occasion when the winds are calm, the water is glassy and sunset burns the sky with brilliant fiery colors, a scene like this may be captured by those lucky enough to witness it.
