About the Shot

This is a self-portrait shot on the beach with two goals in mind: the first, and most important, is the story. The image is titled "The Keeper of Keys" to further understand the irony of the image. The girl, who appears to be searching for something (hence the lantern), is covered in keys. Her dress is made up of a thousand keys, yet the mystery cannot be unlocked. She searches, perhaps for the lock the key fits into, or perhaps for the perfect key she has yet to find. The beach acts as a place of isolation, as beaches are often used to reference someone who is stranded or lost. This image took over 1,000 layers in Photoshop to create, as each key was manipulated separately and placed very carefully to create the dress in the image.
