About the Shot
The torrential rain had subsided leaving streets of Nha Trang, Vietnam flooded with water up to my knees. A few doors down, My dinner was cooking and instead of waiting at the table I decided to walk around and take a few snaps of cars and motorcycles wading through the street. When shooting people, I take a lot of pictures from my hip. I like real moments and natural expressions that often, self consciously vanish, when a camera is aimed with obvious intent. The distant stare becomes a fake smile. The genuine smile gets the added peace sign... I took three picture from my hip while I pretended to watch the cars go by.
