About the Shot

“Casa De Fuego” Hidden in the cliffs of Southern Utah are structures built over 800 years ago by the Ancestral Puebloan Indians. To get to this ruin we had to walk along a dried up water wash in greater than 100 degree weather. If you are not vigilant you can easily walk past this ruin. Sandstone from the opposite canyon wall acts like a giant reflector. The result is a glow from the ceiling of the ruin that makes it appear like there is a house on fire whose flames are blown by the wind. When one sits near this ruin one can feel an amazing quietness and peace that surrounds this structure.
