“Dust Silvered by the Sun” In the American Midwest exist slot canyons carved by turbulent storm waters over thousands of years. In this canyon we had to climb down about 30 feet to arrive at this cathedral of etched sandstone. Above us the sun enters through cracks in the earth lighting the ground with orbs of light. Slanting light gives life to dust agitated by wind traveling along this slot canyon. While waiting for the rays of light I could not help but feel the palpable stillness and peace that surrounds you.
