About the Shot
Beacon of the Metropolis, London
I first saw this location from the top deck of a No.67 bus heading towards Shoreditch. Originally I wanted to take the shot from the top of the bus stop to get over the 8ft wall, but it was in the wrong spot so I bought a pair of Ikea wooden steps with me, but they were too short so I had to balance my kit bag on top of the steps and wobble at the top of the wall. I then had to balance my camera on a cigarette packet to get the right angle and hope the trains would pass by during a 30 second exposure.
I wasn't sure how it would turn out and I was extremely pleased with result which meant I didn't have to go back and reshoot.
Shot on a Mamiya RZ67 using Kodak Portra 160NC (R.I.P)
