About the Shot
I had been cruising around China for a few days with Rune Glifberg making photographs. The density of SHanghai was perplexing but the city scape layed forth endless potential for unreal skate pics. This particular photo of one of my best bro's, Josh Evin, has become of of my all time favorites for many reasons. Rune had scoped this roof on the way to the SMP park but decided to leave it for Josh because it was more his style. Josh had made a quick trip to Jerusalem with his sponsors for a skate park opening and was to be back in a few days. Upon his return we spent an entire day trying to find this spot again. The network of streets and districts in Shanghai City were overlapping and headed in every direction and even a few cabbies got lost trying to help us. We ended up nailing the photo the last day of my trip and within minutes of getting the shot I was in taxi headed to the airport reflecting on how precious it was to be apart of someone’s life that seemed to just get it. Josh was magic on his board and in life and his spirit lives on. LOVE
